By using Maatje you agree to these terms. They are short on purpose.
A language learning app. Capturing words, reviewing them, and tracking your progress are free and always will be. Live spoken lessons with the AI coach are paid, and are sold as a counted number of lessons per month, not as unlimited use.
Subscriptions are billed through the App Store and renew automatically until cancelled. Cancel in your Apple ID settings; cancelling takes effect at the end of the paid period. Any free trial converts to a paid subscription unless cancelled at least 24 hours before it ends. Refunds are handled by Apple, not by us.
Translations, example sentences, corrections, lesson recaps and everything the coach says are generated by AI and can be wrong. Maatje is a practice tool. It is not a certified language course, it does not guarantee an exam result, and it is not a substitute for professional instruction where one is legally required.
Do not use Maatje to process other people's private documents without their knowledge, and do not attempt to extract, resell or automate access to the AI services behind it.
Your photos, words and recordings remain yours. We claim no rights over them. See the privacy policy for what is processed and by whom.
You can stop at any time by deleting your data in Settings and removing the app. We may suspend access in the event of abuse or non-payment.
Maatje is provided as it is, without warranty, to the extent the law allows. It is made by one independent developer.
